“Padmasana” the Lotus Pose with Benjamin Flowers
Saturday, September 21, 2-4pm
In-Studio & Livestream
In this workshop we will approach padmasana, the lotus pose, one of the more famous asanas often used in pranayama and meditation. Students will learn how to sequence a practice to prepare the hips, knees, and ankles for this challenging and valuable pose. The position of the crossed legs and the erect back keeps the mind attentive and alert. The body is at rest without being sloppy.
Following the workshop, you’ll receive a link to the recording for 15 days, so you can take the class as many times as you want!
Benjamin Flowers began practicing Yoga in North Carolina as a teenager. In 2013 he completed The Yoga Room's two-year Iyengar Yoga Teacher Training Program with Mary Lou Weprin and Donald Moyer in Berkeley. Benjamin continued his studies with senior Iyengar teachers Elise Miller, Patricia Walden, and Michael Lucey. He is certified in Yoga for Scoliosis by Elise Miller. Using props and detailed instructions to create healthy alignment in the poses, Benjamin strives to take students into a state of greater awareness, moving from the outer body to the inner body.
