Our Studio
Although it may be hard to imagine now that yoga has become so tightly woven into the fabric of American life, there was a time not so long ago when there was no full-time, dedicated Hatha Yoga studio in Pasadena. Yoga House opened in 1997 to fill that void by creating such a place, a place that brought together the best teachers in a beautiful, well-equipped space so that everyone in our community could conveniently practice yoga and enjoy its benefits.
Since that time, Yoga House has grown from the tiny storefront at the beginning to become one of the largest and most established yoga studios in the L.A. area. You'll see the dedication to that founding vision reflected in something as simple as the flowers that always greet you in the roomy, comfortable lobby, in the warm hospitality ready for you at the front desk and in the relaxed, supportive learning environment at Yoga House where everyone, no matter what their level of physical conditioning or experience, is welcome and valued. You’ll see it in the extremely wide range of styles and levels of yoga offered – from gentle to advanced – with everything from therapeutic yoga for people with Multiple Sclerosis or cancer to the sweat-drenching practice of Ashtanga. It’s also evident in the skillful instruction, friendliness and deep dedication of Yoga House's handpicked and contracted teachers and in the special workshop program, bringing some of the most renowned yogis from around the world to students in Pasadena each year.
Ultimately, Yoga House is an expression of the community in which it has grown, the sum total of the aspirations of literally thousands of students, each with their own point of departure and their own destination. It is the recognition and celebration of this diversity that has always informed and continues to inform everything at Yoga House. No matter what it is you seek from yoga, I'm confident you will find it here.
